Managing Your Collection

This page covers the different ways to create, duplicate, and delete albums in your collection.

Creating Album Entries

There are three ways to create a new album:

  1. Manually — tap the + button in the toolbar (or Add New Album on the iOS Home screen). A blank edit form opens. Fill in at least the Title and Artist, then tap Save.

  2. From MusicBrainz — search MusicBrainz, open a release detail view, then tap Add to Collection. The album is imported with full metadata and cover art automatically. See Importing from MusicBrainz.

  3. Via Barcode — scan a UPC/EAN barcode. The app switches to MusicBrainz search mode and searches for matching releases. See Barcode Scanner.

Duplicating an Album

Right-click (or long-press) any album row in the list and choose Duplicate Album. A copy opens in edit mode with "(Copy)" appended to the title. Tracks, credits, and tags are all duplicated; the copy starts with its own unique ID and no MusicBrainz link.

Deleting Albums

  • iOS Swipe left — on a row in the collection list to reveal a Delete button.
  • Right-click / long-press — a row and choose Delete Album from the context menu.
  • macOS Select — an album, then use the Delete toolbar button to remove it.
  • macOS Select multiple — by clicking rows while holding Command or Shift, then use the Delete toolbar button to remove them all at once.
